Our client is an automation integration company located in Cambridge, ON with customers located primarily in SW Ontario. They provides automation design, programming and commissioning services to OEMs and end users in a variety of industry segments.


  • Responsible for troubleshooting, servicing, programming, debugging and support of software and hardware utilized on automated controls systems.
  • This position is for mainly Southwestern Ontario and GTA clients and within short travel distance from our Head office in Cambridge Ontario.
  • Assist in development and support of PLC and HMI programs for use on industrial equipment that may include systems for our Automotive, F&B, Plastics, and Industrial customers.
  • Responsible for integration of specialized hardware and software into manufacturing systems to enhance automation and control with an emphasis on efficiency
  • Develop, load, setup support and troubleshoot software for automated control systems
  • Prepare functional descriptions of process controls and sequence of operations
  • Assist customers and/or co-workers with electrical/programming issues
  • Field installation work requires travel to customer's facilities
  • Aid engineering teams with machine and control development
  • Assist with specifications for purchase of electrical components


  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years "hands on" electrical experience required
  • Proficient in industrial machine controls, electrical systems, PLC and HMI programming
  • proficiency with Allen Bradley, Siemens and/or Omron platforms
  • Able to create CAD drawings for assembly and wiring control panels and instrumentation
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Skill in organization and problem solving
  • Ability to work in a team environment and work independently as required
  • Understanding of production machine, and machine tool capabilities
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures related to the automation field
  • Must possess experience with motion control and drive integration with common automation networks such as Ethernet I/P and ProfNet.
  • Travel to customer sites within southern Ontario is expected and occasional travel to US or overseas may be required (except during the COVID-19 pandemic).
  • A vehicle, valid driver’s license and passport are also required
  • Must hold a degree or diploma or related certifications
