One of our manufacturing clients is looking for a Human Resource Manager to join their team in Ottawa

Title: Human Resource Manager
Location: Gloucester, ON

Type; Full Time, permanent
Salary: TBD

Schedule: 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday

Remote: No (In office)

About The Role

This position presents an opportunity to participate in a growth-oriented organization and to gain exposure and understanding of the manufacturing industry. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the HR Manager is responsible for providing strategic advice and support to all levels of the company, while implementing HR practices that are appropriate for the size and complexity.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supporting Company’s management team and employees for their HR requirements: recruitment and staffing, onboarding, training and development, talent management, problem resolution, etc.
  • Developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
  • Acting as a main point of contact for all things “labour relations”.
  • Collaborating with the management on strategy and administration of the collective agreements.
  • Overseeing grievance processes.
  • Facilitating contract negotiations, mediations, and arbitrations.
  • Staying informed of legislated requirements that impact HR practices.
  • Developing a classification and compensation system for Company’s non-unionized employees.
  • Working with department managers to develop training paths for the positions in their groups.
  • Create and apply employee engagement processes and make recommendations based on the results.
  • As a member of Company’s Joint Health & Safety Committee, championing and coordinating Health & Safety initiatives.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Significant human resources management experience in handling challenging HR issues in a diverse environment
  • A bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field of study.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Time management and organization skills necessary to thrive in a dynamic work environment.
  • A strong team-player who builds relationships with all your colleagues.

Assets

  • CHRP designation.
  • Bilingual (English and French).
  • Leadership experience.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

 

Experience:

human resources: 2 years (preferred)
