Title:  Inside Sales and Business Development Representative - Industrial Automation
Location: Toronto, ON

Our client is looking for an inside sales/business development representative to engage past customers and develop new opportunities.

 

Over time, you will be a trusted source of knowledge, who can deliver our message and get people excited about our automation solutions in the industrial, utility and the municipal water/wastewater market place.

 

You will be an instrumental component to increasing our sales funnel to grow profitability and market share. This position will lead to an outside sales/business development position.

 

How you will spend your time

  • Cold call potential manufacturing companies to determine the correct personnel responsible for outsourcing system integration projects as well as consider new technologies to improve the manufacturing process.
  • Identify and qualify potential clients in the target market and complete appropriate research on the prospective client's shop floor business
  • Work closely with Sales to develop lead generation techniques and processes
  • Be an ambassador and storyteller who helps prospective clients understand and get excited about what our solutions can do for their business
  • Create and maintain an ongoing list of prospects in different industrial manufacturing market segments
  • Develop close relationships with prospects and existing clients, to be seen as a trusted resource by key decision-makers
  • Create customized client presentations with marketing to deliver in client meetings, and at trade shows and conferences
  • Negotiate contract terms with clients and communicate terms to stakeholders
  • Become a subject matter expert on industrial control systems, our processes, operations, and remain up-to-date on industry news in our target markets

 

The experience you will need

  • 3+ years of experience in a business development or inside sales role
  • Familiarity with CRM (Salesforce, etc.) and LinkedIn (Sales Navigator)
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field
  • Demonstrated achievement in B2B sales
  • Experience in prequalification process and sales management
