Job Description

Our client is a solution provider for the packaging systems industry and they are looking to hire for PLC & Servo Programmer.

Title: PLC and Servo Programmer

Location: Burlington, ON

Type: Full-time, Permanent

Shift-Monday to Friday 8 hour shift

Salary: $80k-$90k (Ask for expectation)

  • Oversees electrical and control aspect for projects including design calculations, load studies, electrical schematic development, control panel design, layouts, assembly, quality acceptance and commissioning.
  • PLC and PAC programming supporting project requirements including I/O listings, sub-network communications, code development to KAI/user standard templates, virtual testing and commissioning.
  • OI/HMI development for user interfaces including local operator interfaces, plant network computers, databases and custom code developed user applications.
  • Motion control configuration for servo and stepper drive technologies, including motion analysis, profile setup, multiaxis initialization and commissioning for single/coordinated motion applications.
  • Provide technical support as required on systems integration projects, sales/quotation preparation and/or service based tasks as directed by the engineering manager.
  • Coordinate electrical and control systems designs with the mechanical design team
  • Interface with customers throughout project development, including progress report communications, project change order management, site control and training.



Individuals having the following skills would be a requirement:

  • Experienced in programming PLC based systems, using Allen Bradley ControlLogix platform.
  • Relevant experience in configuring operator interfaces, using Allen Bradley (Panelview Plus – FactoryTalk and enhanced Panelview),
  • Relevant experience with motion control architectures preferably around Allen Bradley Kinetix (K6K, K300) and/or Bosch Rexroth Indradrive systems and/or VFD drive systems;

Complementing the skill set, we are looking for team members that are goal oriented who would like to be part of a team environment. Troubleshooting, communication and documentation skills are also important, qualified individuals will interact with a number of high profile local and international clients.


Team members will be involved in the design, programming configuration, research and development and commissioning of integrated packaging control systems. Incorporating PLC controls, servo systems, operator interfaces, human machine interfaces (HMI), and wide area SCADA data collection and archiving systems.
