Job Description

Our client located in Pickering, Ontario is currently seeking an Estimator.  

This is a temporary hire with the potential to go full time to the right candidate.

Candidate must have previous experience in the sign or related manufacturing industry.  

Candidate must have worked in custom manufacturing with aluminum, steel, plastics, paint, vinyl, etc.  

Must be able to read drawings and complete a material take off

Must have excellent communication skills

Salary will be $60K to $65K depending on experience.

Requirements

Estimating
•Ensure most recent material costing is used to provide accurate estimations for use by sales in quoting.
•Ensure all labour hours are accurate by communicating with the design team, Production Manager and Lead Hands prior to completing the cost sheet.
•Ensure estimated labour hours are accurate with actual labour hours by getting reports on specific sign types that have heavy labour, especially program pylons, menus, logos and letters.
•Manage and complete all quote requests by the requested deadline or communicate an alternative date.
•Ensure that two or three options are considered regarding custom material suppliers and consider alternative methods that would be more profitable to the Company.
•Provide details on construction methods and materials used when providing an Estimate, and summarize the thought process that went into the cost sheet.
•Clearly label and complete the cost sheets.
•Provide Maintenance information/costs on the cost sheet for illuminated signage.
•Work with the financial department to develop a lease cost that is on the cost sheet.
•Accurately archive the most recent cost sheet and work with Design to ensure the right drawing is with the right cost sheet.
