Our client specialize in the design, manufacture, and implementation of automated manufacturing systems across North America with focus in automotive industry


The Applications Engineer role is responsible for planning, managing, and developing custom automated solutions for all automation projects. Including composition of technical process and pre-sales data as well as all other aspects of a proposal generation scheme; order processes, consultation review, contract specifications, working alongside sales and project teams to prepare budgets as well as coordinating with internal departments and external suppliers.


  • Diploma or Degree in Industrial Engineering / Related Field* an asset*
  • Minimum of 2+ Years of Experience. Preferably in Automation Manufacturing Environment / Robotics.
  • Have strong processing of welding assembly line knowledge in automotive 
  • Experienced in the conceptual development process; establishing processes and concepts, costing, and proposals
  • Costing and writing detailed technical proposals is an asset
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings
  • Working Knowledge of MS Office, SolidWorks, or alternative design and offline programming software required
  • Experience in industrial robotics automation required
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Attention to detail; tight deadlines, ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Adept to change and constant improvement
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong effective interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Ability to create and maintain design project timelines

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop offline process simulations, reports, and industrial data analytics
  • Manage proposal development team; design and development of products, systems, processes, and equipment by analyzing technical problems and working closely to customer specs
  • Coordinate with various internal departments; project management / sales / accounting / automation / purchasing
  • Prepare technical sales presentation for customers
  • Work along with side projects and sales teams to produce project bids and quote opportunities; Create and organize project/contract packages
  • Present and communicate concepts/designs to internal project management and team members as well as customer reviews
  • Prepare detailed concepts; Compose estimates for design labor, cycle times, and mechanical purchases
  • Review quotes, documents, technical drawings, engineer reports to develop assessments for take-offs
  • Research customer requirements and communicate with vendors for technical info and specifications
  • Perform engineering calculations as required
  • Assist co-workers, vendors, and builders of equipment to resolve problems to complete the project on time
  • Identify potential improvements and provide solutions; ensure quality control
  • Work alongside Purchasing Team & suppliers to examine component specifications, pricing, and lead times
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned
