Job Description

Our client located in Newmarket, Ontario is currently seeking an Electrician.

ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:
•Supports both Production in the Press & Assembly areas and the Toolroom with troubleshooting, repairs and preventative maintenance on all equipment including the facility
SCOPE:
•Communication with Press Room, Assembly and Toolroom employees at all levels

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE/ PREREQUISITES
•Grade 12 education with 4 years electrician apprenticeship program
•A valid provincial electrician license
•3 years’ industry experience in a manufacturing environment with PLC experience
•Robotic programming experience
•3 – 5 years industry experience with a focus on stampings, assemblies and automation
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE
•Strong trouble shooting skills
•Strong mechanical skills
•Able to work within a team environment
•Excellent communication skills

Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES/EFFORTS
•Support production and tooling shops. Troubleshooting machines, in order to perform preventive maintenance on all equipment
•Perform repairs to production equipment, plant equipment and plant facilities
•Ensure preventive maintenance schedules and documentation are complete
•Modify and re-design machinery requirement and overhaul machines
•Installation, set-up and commissioning of new equipment
•Carry out various test procedures required to monitor equipment conditions
•Complete Mechanical and electrical tasks on schedule
•Communicates clearly and timely with colleagues on opposite shift to ensure that accurate information is exchanged on daily tasks
•Performs all duties as assigned in accordance with and adherence to the IATF/TS 16949 Quality System Standard
•Follows Policies, Procedures and Work Instructions as outlined in the Quality Systems Manual and Employee Handbook
•Performs all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all health, safety, 5S and Housekeeping guidelines and rules;
•Reports all unsafe & unhealthy conditions to Management or a member of the Joint Health & Safety Committee
•Performs other tasks as required
