Pay Range-Based on Experience

Shift: Days or Afternoon (To be determine) 

Reports to: Plant Manager

 

HAND ON EXPERIENCE WITH HEAVY EQUIPMENT, BLOW MOULDING EXPERIENCE WOULD BE A MUST.

 

Responsibilities

 

Under the direction of the Plant Manager the Blowmoulding Supervisor is responsible for the overall bottle production and the maintenance of the Blowmoulding equipment.

Ensure production lines run according to schedule

 

  • Supervisor Train and evaluate all department personnel
  • Ensure H&S policies and procedures are followed at all times
  • Responsible for all blow moulding machines and equipment
  • Ensure BM Production lines runs according to schedule
  • Monitor the production and equipment performance and correct problems as necessary
  • Ensure change over for colors is coordinated in a manner to eliminate or reduce machine downtime
  • Ensure production schedule is monitored and inform Plant Manager of delays and problems
  • Ensure production and downtime records are maintained on a daily basis
  • Maintain quality control as required by ISO standards in bottle quality, weights and appearance
  • Prepare material request and keep a minimum inventory requirement on bulk, resin, colours, purging compound and spare parts
  • Ensure that blow moulding department needs are factoring in to the preparation of the production schedule
  • Supervise train and evaluate all personnel:
  • Train staff on techniques and operation of equipment
  • Ensure staff are informed of production schedules when required
  • Conduct annual performance reviews with employees
  • Review policies and procedures with employees on a regular basis
  • Conduct weekly safety talks as per the Compliance and Technical Information Manager
  • Ensure a safe work environment
  • Monitor all compliance to the health and safety procedures and takes appropriate action to deal with non-conformances
  • Participate in accident or incident investigations and provide input for continuous improvement
  • Ensure all staff are compliant with their PPE for Milton Plant
  • Maintain a high level of housekeeping in the blow moulding area
  • Responsible for all equipment maintenance
  • Operate all heavy equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures
  • Perform daily safety and maintenance checks
  • Clean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required
  • Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored
  • Ensure that requirements for maintenance or repairs are done within the department
  • Manage the routine maintenance
  • Practice workplace safety
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by Plant Manager

 Work Environment

 

  • High noise level in department
  • Inside plant area requiring PPE to be worn at all times
  • Mandatory to wear safety footwear, safety glasses and hearing protection
  • PPE to be worn depending on task being performed
  • Company provided uniform to be worn if provided, otherwise as per Plant Employee Manual

 

Requirements

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
  • 10 Years of working experience in the working with the operation of the blow moulding extrusion machines
  • Good command of the English language written/verbal
  • Ability to interact with all department effectively
  • Minimum of (5) years of related supervisory experience to 10 direct reports
  • Performance Management system experience in giving training and feedback to direct reports
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanics, electrics, hydraulics and plastics
  • Basic operation of machine tools and welding equipment
  • Good interpersonal, organizational and mathematical skills
  • Knowledge of experience in quality assurance practices
  • Thorough knowledge of product line
  • Date code identifications
  • Basic level of required working knowledge of Word, Excel, and in-house applications
