Our client is a Tier 1 Japanese automotive company based in Stratford, ON - They established in 2002 and began production in 2003.- They are the major supplier to Toyota Motor Manufacturing Company (TMMC).

 

Area of Accountability

  • Provide Information Technology (IT) support for all computer hardware and software and maintain equipment; administer local area network; maintain telephone network and assist users as necessary in IT functions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for all computer and mobile hardware and software including moving and connecting equipment, troubleshooting, advice for error messages, and recommends upgrades to application software as appropriate.
  • Maintain equipment and operating systems, download and install upgrades and security patches and schedule other normal maintenance activities to ensure optimum performance.
  • Administer local network environment and recommend improvements. Assist users in creating public and private directories that match our requirements. Utilization of Active Directory to set up users and administer security. Knowledge of Windows Server and their Roles, Hyper-V, Office 365. Administer WIFI network, Ruckus and Cisco switches.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate security protocols including ensuring virus protection is up to date, passwords are changed regularly. Perform regular backups, for both onsite and offsite storage. Ensure that we have a successful recovery plan.
  • Basic expertise in MS applications like Access, word and Excel to help users develop their own applications.
  • Leading projects and managing capital budgets.
  • Improve utility of common applications i.e., Outlook including Creating mailing lists for Outlook, network Outlook so users can schedule meetings and reserve meeting rooms, and ensure all users use standard software.
  • Maintain printers and fax machines.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of client’s Environmental Policy and participate in programs that enhance environmental performance. Identify and communicate any potential non-conformances.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the significant environmental impacts of your work activities; follow work instructions to ensure positive environmental performance is sustained. Understand the consequences of delineating from them.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the EPRP (Emergency Preparedness Response Plan).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • IT related diploma/degree in a related field
  • Ten or more years of experience in a related field
  • Proactive and oriented to make improvements in systems and procedures
  • Strong communication skills including written and verbal
  • Sound judgment in decision making and establishing priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork
  • Strong hardware and software troubleshooting skills with demonstrated experience
  • Strong Experience with Windows OS environments and administrative software including Active Directory, and Office 365, Hyper-V, Windows Server and their roles
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications like Access, Excel and Outlook
  • Knowledge of Information Systems
  • Experience with telephone and security systems an asset
  • Leadership experience an asset
