Our client a tier 1 automotive company is looking for an Inventory Cycle Counter
Role Summary
The Inventory Cycle Counter will be working in a fast-paced environment. They must be efficient, remain composed under pressure, work independently, and be able to organize and prioritize their work with a sense of urgency. To ensure accurate perpetual inventories by cycle counting and problem resolution of perpetual inventory variances within CMS system. Responsible for proper handling, storage, packaging, preservation, and delivery of both material and product per control plans utilizing documented systems and authority to initiate appropriate action necessary to prevent non-conformance to customer specifications.
Educational and Skill Requirements
- Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent.
- 1+ year minimum related work experience
- Valid forklift license, or willingness and ability to obtain one
- Inventory control experience, preferably in manufacturing
- Inventory flow, JIT principles, automotive background preferred
- Must be able to work overtime as required
Key Responsibilities
- Perform cycle counts according to cycle count schedule and verify inventory accuracy of CMS
- Communicate with Materials Department regarding stock levels and inventory integrity
- Provide CMS system users support with inventory and barcode labelling issues
- Help to ensure material is properly labelled, stored, and the location recorded in the system
- Audit stock locations for FIFO and assist with maintaining FIFO in accordance with MAFACT requirements
- Audit signage/labelling accuracy and report discrepancies
- Review reports and if any discrepancies follow up with the team
- Report out inventory accuracy and troubleshoot inaccuracies
- Assist team with implementation of approved resolutions
- Safely operator forklift as required to move material and perform job duties
- Participation required in plant-wide Physical Inventory
- Conduct all activities in a safe and professional manner
- Develop and implement Continuous Improvement suggestions which improve inventory accuracy
- Housekeeping and other activities as assigned
