Job Description

Our client is a manufacturer of plastic bottles, and they are looking for a production supervisor for their afternoon shift, and also for a night shift.

Location: Orangeville, ON

Shift: Afternoon shift and Night shift available

Payrate: DOE (depending on experience)




Under the responsibility of the Operations Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for the optimal running of production activities as to ensure that the products are produced according to standards, technical specifications and customer requirements in a work environment where health and safety are paramount. The supervisor participates in the planning and organization of production and is called upon to work in close collaboration with services such as human resources, planning, technical services and quality assurance in order to detect and resolve production issues. The supervisor manages the various production files and supports the employees in achieving the company's objectives. Finally, it ensures compliance with good manufacturing practices and the maintenance of a healthy and safe working environment.




Operations Manager

  • Organizes and controls the work of their team to ensure optimal production performance.
  • Responsible to perform technical duties such as weight/spec adjustments on the machines as well as assist with changeovers.
  • Communicates regularly with each member of the team.
  • Monitors current productions to ensure operational targets are met.
  • Mobilize their team around common goals to ensure superior performance and retention of team members.
  • Treats team members with dignity and respect, ensures their development and fulfillment at work.
  • Evaluates the performance of each member of his team, performs positive reinforcement or addresses changes as appropriate by carrying out rigorous follow-ups to ensure production objectives are met.
  • Ensures the production of containers in quantity and quality as scheduled.
  • Facilitate shift start meetings, participate in monthly operations meetings and other committees as appropriate.


  • College or University Degree preferred in Operations Management and/or relevant experience.
  • 3 to 5 years experience in management and / or supervision of personnel in a manufacturing environment.
  • The candidate must stand out for his team spirit, his autonomy, his leadership, and his ability to coordinate several actions with several different stakeholders (on different shifts).
  • Excellent communication skills in the English language both verbal and written.
  • Autonomous, dependable, planning, delegation and teamwork.
  • Be a team player, energetic, determined and who has a good capacity for synthesis and analysis.
  • Being open and have good listening skills.
  • Organizational skills and manage priorities well.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to manage conflicts.
  • Great sense of autonomy and initiative.
  • Good working knowledge and ability to navigate a PC windows environment, including shared drives.
  • Strong skills and experience using Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook & Excel).
  • Ability to learn new software quickly and willingness to continuously develop technology skills.
  • Demonstrates good and safe work habits and have a clean working environment.
