Lead Hand Maintenance Technician
Job Description
Our client is a manufacturer of grease and oils, and they are currently looking to hire a Maintenance Supervisor.
Location-Queensway & Islington in Etobicoke
Shift-Rotating every 2 weeks, 10 hour shifts Tuesday to Friday 7am to 5pm, 1pm to 11pm
Pay Rate-$29 per hour to start.
-Providing maintenance and preventative maintenance and support alongside the technicians on the floor
-Responsible for supervising 2-3 maintenance technicians
-Hands on experience working on and repairing Mills, Pumps etc.
-Welding parts
Requirements
- Understand and follow instructions from managerial staff.
- Gain knowledge of plant layout, equipment and processes.
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical operations
- Ability to independently and safely trouble-shoot mechanical, electrical and other problems
- Working knowledge of operating of boilers (training will be provided).
- Ability to do basic welding and pipe fitting
- Ability to safely repair and install pumps and mills
- Ability to maintain and repair various packaging, production and other equipment used in facility
- Ability to safely and correctly operate and service exhaust and cooling systems
- Ability to read and understand repair manuals and use this information to effect repairs.
- Ability to safely and correctly unload truckloads and railcar loads of base oils
- Ability to safely and correctly carry out various routine inspections, maintenance tasks and projects as may be required in the plant.
- Ability to identify and carry out routine maintenance building work
- Ability to safely handle (and train subordinate staff to handle) hazardous situations that may arise at the facility.
- Ability to train subordinate staff in the safe and proper operation of, maintenance & repair as required above.
- Ability to train subordinate workers in the safe and proper operation of all tools and machinery available in the facility
- At least 5 years’ experience in maintenance work, preferably (not compulsory) in a supervisory role
