Job Description


Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Create and maintain documentation including standards, diagrams, drawings, deployment plans, and asset tracking
  • Support users with internal technology needs
  • Installation and configuration of workstations and servers
  • Manage Cisco based phone system, firewalls and VPN devices
  • Interface with Global IT in planning and implementation
  • Provide network infrastructure solutions based on application needs and anticipated growth
  • Working with all functional areas of the IT environment anb ensure all escalated service requests and incidents are resolved in a professional and timely manner
  • Maintain IT equipment on premises and off-site
  • Maintain and review active directory accounts for the business unit
  • Communicate any changes to stakeholders
  • Create plans for business continuity
  • Onsite network planning and maintenance
  • Maintain and adhere to corporate IT security policies/procedures.
  • Must be available for after-hour support and weekend on-call support on a rotating schedule.

Skills and Experience

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft based products as well as *Nix type of environments.
  • Excellent knowledge in hardware and software.
  • Experience in workstation imaging software
  • Experience with virtualization technologies.
  • Manage third-party infosec requests/requirements (customers or prospects)
  • Conduct risk assessment, required controls definition, control procedure appropriateness, vulnerability assessments and any other relevant areas.
  • Lead or contribute to the completion of risk and control design assessments as well as risk mitigation and remediation plans and remediation strategy.
  • Adhere to internal policies and procedures, technology control standards, and applicable regulatory guidelines from global IT.
  • Contribute to the review of internal processes and activities and assist in identifying potential opportunities for improvement.
  • Influence behavior to reduce risk and foster a strong technology risk management culture and security awareness throughout the company.
  • Excellent understanding of audit and compliance standards
  • Excellent understanding of IT security and risk disciplines and practices
  • Excellent understanding of organization and technology controls, security and risk issues
  • Experience with the audit process and performing risk-based audits
  • Experience with conducting IT risk assessments
  • Demonstrated ability to participate in complex projects
  • Ability to serve as subject matter expert in technology control and information security for the business unit
  • Interest and focus on the rapidly changing privacy regulatory landscape
  • Knowledge in managing and configuring Cisco security devices
  • Knowledge of the concepts of VLAN, VPN, and to apply them to business needs
  • Must be able to pass various background checks (RCMP, PWGSC, local police agencies, etc…)
  • Must be fluent in both oral and written French and English. Polyglots welcome
  • Excellent customer service skills, positive attitude.

Additional Requirements

  • At least 3-5 years’ experience doing most or all of the above requirements
  • Information security certification/accreditation
  • An information technology college diploma or university degree
  • Previous experience with GDPR, Canadian Privacy act, reviewing privacy regulations and contractual addendums.
  • Knowledge of cloud Infrastructure and Platform as a Service like AWS or Azure.
  • DBA experience in MS SQL Server and Oracle.
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
  • Willing to travel locally and across Canada as needed

Must be successful in qualifying and maintaining security clearance requirements for customers
