Job Description

 

Our client is a manufacturer of high-speed automated packaging machinery. They are looking for an experienced IT support/Administrator.

Temp to permanent (after 3 months of probation)

Payrate: $38.00 to $40.00 per hour

Location: Mississauga rd/401 (Mississauga)

 

JOB DUTIES


PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Reporting to the Group IT Manager and the Managing Director Americas, the IT Systems Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Management of company network including:
o Spam Titan
o Active Directory
o Network credentials
o Maintain address lists for users
o Set up & maintain security
o Installation and knowledge of: MS Office, CAD Application, PDM/ERP Applications
 Maintain Servers
o Ensure software is up to date
o Disaster recovery plan in place for all servers
o Maintain documented config of firewall
 Email System
o Maintenance of Exchange Server
o Creation of email clients
o Maintenance of groups
 Backups
o Maintain server backups in accordance with policy outlined in Disaster Recovery Plan
o Veeam backup software
 Maintenance
o Maintain Inventory of IT assets
o Maintenance of the HUB and other company information sites
o Documentation of all IT Changes
o Consistent maintenance of Disaster Recovery and IT Databases
o Ensure software compliancy for all users
o Maintain users for GoToMeeting, GoToMyPc, ShareFile, GoToAssistant
 Virtual technology
o Assist & support virtual workstations and servers
 VPN
o Set up Clients
o Maintain accounts
o Maintain Security
 Computer Images
o Create & Maintain current images for deployment of user workstations and servers
o Maintain current templates for virtual servers / machines

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Computer Images
o Create & Maintain current images for deployment of user workstations and servers
o Maintain current templates for virtual servers / machines
 Printers / Plotters
o Procurement of required equipment
o Maintain rental contracts
o Keep accurate track of inventory
o Tag equipment and keep current
 IT Expenses & Budgets
o Make purchases
o Record all purchases in Quicken
o Process invoices on time – weekly
o Process expense reports biweekly/monthly
o Assist in estimating budgets
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Most work is performed in an office environment with occasional trips to employee stations
- Most of work is done while sitting down. Occasional need to stand and talk
- Works with computer for prolonged periods of time

 

WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT:
- This position is a position of trust and responsibility. Long working hours may be necessary on occasion in order to comply with deadlines (internal and external).
This position requires the employee to attend work properly groomed and dressed according to the position. Mpac Langen attire is mandatory at all times
o 100% adherence to Mpac Langen dress code policy is mandatory
- Behaves in a professional and courteous manner

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY:
- Submit expense claims on Concur software in a timely manner
- Responsible use of company credit card and monitoring card balance


Requirements

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- 5-8 years in System Admin / support role
- Strong understanding of Customer Service
- Detail orientated
- Sense of urgency
- Maintain clean, safe work environment
- Willing to respond to emergencies 24/7
- Prompt response time to inquires
