Job Description

Our client is a manufacturer of extrusion dies. They are looking for an experienced accountant.

Location: Woodbine/Hwy 7 (Markham)

Position: Accountant

Permanent position

Pay Range: $50K to $55K

 Responsibilities   

  • Prepare Financial Statements (MTD, QTD, and YTD).
  • Ensure quality control over Financial Transactions and Financial Reporting.
  • Compile and analyze Financial Reporting packages.
  • Perform tasks related to Billing, AP, AR, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory, Processing Invoicing.
  • Support the Group Controller to conduct various Post-Close Analysis and prepare MD&A Packages.
  • Support the Group Controller regarding Annual Budgeting Planning, Forecasting, and Financial Analysis.
  • Support the Group Controller regarding developing of Internal Controls in accordance with Company’s Procedures.
  • Complete all Monthly Reconciliations for Statutory requirements such as HST, WSIB, EHT, etc.
  • Be the main finance contact for all customers and vendors.
  • Responsible for maintaining all accounting records and proper archival of such records.
  • Active participation on payroll process & employee benefits administration.
  • Additional duties as necessary
Requirements

 

Qualifications:

  • The candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • 3-5 Years of Accounting Experience.
  • Experience with Financial Reporting under IFRS.
  • Experience with Budgeting, Forecasting, and Financial Analysis.
  • Advanced Excel Skills and be able to create detailed Financial Models.
  • Works well with small groups and taking ownership and drive results.
  • Willing to roll up sleeves and “do the work”.
  • Detail-oriented individual who possesses a high level of integrity and have strong analytical skills.
  • A “team player” mentality with a flexible and collaborative approach to completing tasks.
  • Organized, strong multi-tasking skills and strong time management.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Confident and possesses a personable, professional presence.
  • Enthusiastic, hardworking and has demonstrated initiative and motivation in taking charge of their responsibilities.
  • Problem solver with sound judgment, who takes initiative, accepts ownership and accountability.
  • Ability to set clear and deliverable goals and follow through on them.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage competing deliverables based on urgency and importance.

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Work on both automated and manual Manufacturing Entities.
  • Costing in Manufacturing.
  • Macro and VBA (be able to automate repetitive tasks in excel).
  • Recognized Accounting Designation (CPA or equivalent).
