Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled, reliable, flexible mechanic with extensive experience working on large gas and/or diesel engines, from routine maintenance to repairs and major overhauls.

A day on the job!

You will be working remotely with your activities directed from our Wellesley, Ontario head office. You will be required to visit the Wellesley shop once every week or two to load up equipment, parts, and consumables required for your jobs.

You will arrive at different job sites and perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems, complete repairs and engine overhauls on power generation equipment. You will work on a variety of systems including continuously operating generator sets, cogeneration equipment, and standby emergency generators. Upon completion of a job you log your activity with our computer system. On Friday afternoon you may end up at our Wellesley shop to share in a few games and laughs with your co-workers over a beer and BBQ.

Requirements

  • Heavy Equipment, Diesel, Automotive, Truck and Coach Mechanics strongly preferred
  • Experience with natural gas and/or diesel engines and/or cogeneration equipment is a requirement
  • Positive Attitude
  • Trouble shooting,
  • annual maintenance and repair,
  • controls and engine repair
  • working remotely
  • no sales- maintaining existing clients.
  • 80lbs to 120lbs varied.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license, maintain a clean driving record and be willing to provide driver’s abstract
  • Must be able to successfully obtain security clearances from various governmental and law enforcement agencies
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills (English)
  • Computer proficiency with a strong knowledge of MS Office and social media tools (texting, Skype, etc.)
  • Must be willing to travel across Ontario, overnight stays may be required
  • Knowledge of CSA C282-15 – Guidelines for Generator Maintenance is an asset
