Job Description

Our client is a supplier and leader in the residential and industrial sectional garage door industry and  they are looking to hire for Manufacturing Engineer.

Title:   Manufacturing Engineer

Type: Full Time Permanent

Location: Mississauga, ON

Pay Range: Based on Experience

 Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead and manage projects involving new equipment design, installation, movement, retrofitting and/or modification
  • Troubleshoot problems with manufacturing processes and provide and implement solutions/improvements
  • Assist with the development of labour standards, as well as equipment utilization and efficiency targets
  • Contribute significantly to continuous improvement initiatives focused on manufacturing processes and procedures
  • Involvement in the development and implementation of cost and inventory reduction activities
  • Address systemic quality issues that result from the manufacturing process including those that may arise from material handling, shipping, assembly, etc.
  • Reduce and remove non value added time that is present in the manufacturing process
  • Participate in the design and development of new products to ensure design for manufacturability is a focus
  • Work with the maintenance group to identify preventative and predictive maintenance practices  
  • Other duties as assigned

Personal Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in leading projects
  • Professional, creative thinking, team player with an ability to handle multiple projects with the use of effective multi-tasking and prioritization skills.  
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands on experience.   Must be a fast learner and have the ability to understand and be creative with the mechanics of machines.
  • Must enjoy getting out on the floor and actively working with the Production Line Operators and Maintenance team.






  • Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering (P. Eng)
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience working as a Manufacturing/Industrial Engineer in a continuous manufacturing and assembly environment
  • Proven experience with roll forming lines and presses
  • Experience with assembly automation an asset.
