Job Description

Our client is a manufacturer of high speed packaging machinery. They are looking for experienced electro-mechanical assemblers -machine builders

For their busy production floor.


Duration: Ongoing Contract 


Shift: Monday to Thursday 7am to 5:30pm (must be flexible for overtime)


Pay Range: $22.00-$35.00/Hour (DOE)



  • Build packaging machinery according to assembly drawings.

  • Build electrical panels and wiring machinery according to schematics provided.

  • Responsible for the integration of mechanical/electrical purchased components, and third party OEM equipment.

  • Participate on the set-up and debugging of packaging machinery

  • Provide on-site field support to installations and service as required.

  • Review designs for cost effective procedures of manufacturing

  • Responsible for his/her own quality control on assemblies under his responsibility

  • Adhere to all established work instructions and the Employee Handbook

  • Follow instructions or directions given to him / her by the Team Leader on the project.

  • Complete adherence to the company safety rules on the floor and when visiting customers


  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area
  • Interface well with the Team Leader, Engineering Team, and Project Manager
  • Well-groomed and wear appropriate clothing including safety shoes to meet the job standards


  • Ability to read and understand assembly drawings. Knowledge of CAD systems would be an asset
  • Must be able to fluently read mechanical assembly drawings, electrical and pneumatic schematics.
  • Experience with wiring machinery similar to packaging machinery is a definite asset
  • Ability to understand pneumatic drawings. Experience with pneumatic assembly is an asset.
  • Technical College Graduation Diploma or equivalent experience is required. Ontario Certificate of Qualification would be an asset
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in mechanical assembly
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in electrical assembly
  • Must have essential tools to perform the job
  • Good command of the English language
  • Ability to navigate computer programs. Fast learner of computer software (with proper training)
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and in written report format.   Able to express yourself clearly in good verbal and written English.
  • Post-secondary education in mechanical and/or electrical field. Millwright certificate would be a definite asset.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
    • Knowledge of problem solving techniques, root cause analysis is an asset.
  • Organized, self-disciplined and professional in demeanor.
