Job Description

Our client is a manufacturer of control panels for various industries. They are looking for a engineering manager to lead their team of engineers. Burlington Area.

 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Managing a team of engineering personnel to achieve objectives in an efficient timely manner.
  • Assisting in the compilation of R & D claims (SRED).
  • Assist with the quoting of control panel design, assembly, wiring and testing.
  • creation of bills of materials and entry into purchasing system & BOM quotes.
  • Design of controls systems using AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Design and programming of software for controls systems using PLC programming software, i.e.) RS-Logix 5/500/5000.
  • Some onsite commissioning of controls systems at our customer’s location.
  • Champion projects as they are moved through the build process to ensure accuracy of drawing package, on-time delivery of components, labeling, etc.
  • Communicate concisely (verbally and written) with customers with regards to errors and changes to drawings and components.
  • Communicate concisely (verbally and written) with suppliers to expedite component delivery and correctness of component selection and pricing.
  • Be an affective member of the entire team working closely with all disciplines to ensure safe delivery of a quality product and/or service to our customer.
  • Provide assistance on the manufacturing floor when required to assist with the wiring/testing of panels.
  • A strong working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • High understanding of standard business practices and industrial communications and networking.
  • Must have valid Ontario driver’s license and be willing to go our customers’ facilities for meetings and commissioning purposes.
  • High knowledge of time management for design planning & commissioning.
Requirements

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree or Technologist Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field with 10 years minimum experience in the area of control system design, programming and commissioning.
  • Knowledge of CSA and cUL 508A certification requirements.
  • Independent, self-motivated, self-starter, problem solving team player.
  • Able to work in a team environment, strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
