Job Description



  • Assemble/build mechanical equipment/tooling, structures and units, using appropriate tools, as required
  • Field installation of the machine, on customer site, as required.
  • Adjust, repair and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, diagrams, specifications, work orders, or reports.
  • Inspect mechanical installations, assemblies, using appropriate tools
  • Disassemble and prepare machines for shipment.
  • Fabricate or modify parts, using shop equipment, with supervisor approval.
  • Verify product descriptions, dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to drawing specifications/ OEM instruction, using instruments such as micrometers, calipers, etc.
  • Check to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Drilling, tapping and installation of mechanical components such as shafts,, using corded/ cordless drill, cordless driver, hydraulic/pneumatic tool/driver, torque driver, etc.

Education and Experience:

  • Electromechanical diploma through a reputable college or equivalent
  • Active Millwright Certificate 339A is an asset
  • 5 + years in mechanical assembling experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Able to identify mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic components; work and assemble according to the blue prints and mechanical drawings
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience in building mechanical machinery
  • Experience in building large and detailed machines
  • Experience in building detailed assemblies and tooling
  • General Machining skills is an asset
  • MIG and TIG Welding skills is an asset
  • Must understand the principles of mechanical assembling and fastening methods
  • Good sense of quality and attention to detail utilizing strong meticulous work habits
  • Proficient in using productivity tools such as corded/cordless drill/driver, hydraulic/pneumatic tool/driver etc.
  • Carry out high quality work and maintain good records.
  • Ability to meet deadlines under conditions of multiple demands and conflicting priorities.
  • Strong challenging spirit, Team player, quick learner, self-motivated, able to work under minimal supervision, and enjoy learning new things.
  • High degree of flexibility and be willing to work after hours and weekends.
